A new bag design is coming up : yarn-happiness

I am enjoying my new pile of yarn, lovely Lopi yarn, the super-bulky Lopi, in a wonderfull shade of brown.

And since I know pretty well what I will be making πŸ™‚ Β I already decided to pick out the necessary accessories as well !

Now I just need a bit of time to ‘create the full design’ in my imagination and in my head, before it will come out as I want it to be.

Curious about what and how ? Stay tuned !

Enjoy your day.

Child backpack in Inside Crochet 62

I made a strong and happy backpack for children.
The design is published in Inside Crochet 62.

Vivid colours, very strong and handy, so you can hide all your treasures in it. A crocheted large drawstring and red button make it easy to open and close it.

Girls bag

(For Dutch : go here. Voor Nederlands : klik hier. )

All girls love beautiful bags!

And because I am a girl myself, I started thinking what I would have liked when I was a child. It was just so fantastic, searching for inspiration in my own childhood. (because I ‘only’ have boys, I just love making girly stuff).

So choosing colours was not hard at all : fucsia, rose and turquoise. Adorable colours. I choose Β Scheepjeswol Roma HiddeΒ , wonderfull yarn in great colours, it is very strong and works up really beautiful and easy.

I decided to go for retro as well, vintage is very trendy, and I love it a lot. I also wanted a very large closure, a closure that ‘makes that great CLICK sound, when you open or close it’. (let’s all admit it : we all love the sound of a good bag closure). And I also wanted a large strap, so you can decide to wear the bag ‘very feminine like a real lady over your shoulder’ or ‘just throw it over your body to carry it with you and continue your important playing or discovering adventures’. And it is als crucial you can put lots of important items and treasures in it, so the bag needs to be strong. So I added a lining. (by hand).

And cherries : of course : the cherries. Sweet and tasty retro cherries, to give this bag that little ‘extra’.

I have decided I will spendΒ my entire weekend feeling like ‘a little adventurous girl’ πŸ™‚

And next week I am happy to share the crochet pattern with you.

I wish you all a ‘fantastic happy girly-weekend’! Β (and because this bag can also be made in boys colours – our little son already ordered one – I can only wish you a ‘happy boys-weekend’ as well!)

WIP : bag for girls

I am working on a bag for girls, and I am enjoying it very much.
And…
I have decided to keep most of the details a secret πŸ™‚
But here is some info I already want to share with you :
– I am using Scheepjeswol Roma Hidde yarn : in girly colours : fuchsia and rose and some blue as well
– retro and vintage are also keywords for this bag
– it will be a very handy, and ‘girlish tough’result.

Wanna know more about it and see the result? I will blog about the result next week.

I wish you all a happy and creative weekend.

A new bag : in girly colours

I am beginning a new project : a bag for girls!
So that means double fun for me, because I can choose ‘girly colours’. And that is great, in a house full of men, where I am ‘the only girl’ πŸ™‚
I have made my Robin Hood bag with Scheepjeswol Roma Hidde, and because I just loved that yarn, because of its strength and the vivid colours, I almost instantly decided to use Roma Hidde again, and I picked out some lovely pink and blue shades.
So, I am off starting working on my bag,
I wish you all a wonderfull and creative weekend!

Little bag to go with the poncho!!

A practical and ful little handbag. I used a leftover of Cascade for it , the yarn I used for the poncho.

Because little girls love ‘assorted’ accessories πŸ™‚

A long strap, so it can be worn over the shoulder, and I attached supernice buttons to it.

And for the crocheting moms or grandmothers or …. : the design of this bag is completely seamless, so you don’ t need to make separate parts and attach them, you can just simply crochet it in 1 piece!

Patroon : eigen ontwerp
Garen : Cascade 220 (minder dan 50 gram)
Haaknaald : 4,5 mm
Knopen : gekocht bij Veritas

Paarse wollen tulp-tas!!!!

Ik maakte eerder al de klaprozentas.

I recently made the ‘poppies-bag‘.

I use it a lot these days, and a lot of people like the bag.

It is a large bag, it can be used as shoulder bag or large hand bag. (that is important to me, I always carry a lot of things with me)

The 3 mm thick wool felt is very pretty, but also quite expensive. (it costs about € 35/meter, and you absolutely need the entire meter for the bag) So I decided to look for alternatives, beautiful alternatives, but a bit less expensive..

I bought some nice woolfleece, it is a very soft, warm and of course natural fabric. As you all probably know, wool is self-cleaning, so it needs very little care. It is also quite water resistent, and strong!

So I decided to ‘remake’ the bag, last time I had written all the instructions down very carefully.

It become this purple bag, with happy tulips on it.

I used pure wool felt for the tulips and sewn them on with my sewing machine.

The double shoulderbelt was sewn on very firmly, and I also put some extra vlieseline in the middle, for extra strength, so this bag will last for many years!

For the lining, I choose a Japanese flower fabric, and on top of the lining, I decided to put a band of the purple woolfleece.

En de sluiting? Met een sterke magneetsluiting!!!

And for the closure I used a very strong magnetic clasp!!!

I really enjoy making this bags, so there are more to come!!! (I am already thinking about a red one, and a green one, and ….)

Fijne dag iedereen.

I wish you all a nice day
